UNA at El Cid

UNA appears at the Fellini-esque El Cidin LA. img_5435asmPlaced on a steep hillside off Sunset Blvd this venue is a small red velvet lined shoebox of place, however elegant and intimate. Visitors can see their favorite bands in close-up fashion, sitting only a few feet from the stage. The room looks like it came from Juliet of the Spirits, candle sconces line the walls, and there are several outside decks parading down the steep hillside. Having one too many Margaritas could spell a possible trip to hospital. But the place is charming, so you’d come right back after visiting hours are over.

UNA took the stage and sent the viewers into a new soul-trip of funky beats from Eddie B’s turntables, heavy lines and lashes from Jennifer Nice, and a few off-world melodic transporters from Richard Larsen’s vintage Wurli piano, sitting just in the darker edge of the small stage.img_5674asm
